Editorial: Africa Eye
As part of the framework agreement signed on February 4 between Abdelmalek Essaâdi University and the National Agency for the Regulation of Activities Related to Cannabis (ANRAC), a strategic and promising partnership agreement was concluded on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Faculty of Medicine in Tangier.
This agreement focuses on the implementation as of March 2025 of a project led by a team of Moroccan experts to evaluate the efficacy and therapeutic safety of cannabidiol (CBD) which is extracted from Moroccan cannabis on refractory epilepsies in children, which are drug-resistant epilepsies to standard treatment, in particular epileptic encephalopathies in children.
The signing ceremony was attended by the President of the University, the Director General of ANRAC, the Director of the University Hospital Center, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, as well as representatives from the pharmaceutical industry, including Axesspharma and Sothema.
