Puntland Forces Capture ISIS Strongholds in Mountainous Areas
Local authorities in Puntland, northeastern Somalia, have announced that their military forces have successfully taken control of strongholds belonging to ISIS in the mountainous areas of the Bari region, This operation is part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and stability in the region and combat the terrorist organization, which has posed a persistent threat.
According to the “Somalia New” website, the military campaign launched by Puntland forces aims to eliminate ISIS threats in these mountainous areas, This operation represents a significant step in the ongoing fight against the extremist group in the region, with local forces achieving this important milestone. It is worth noting that last month, Puntland security forces successfully repelled a suicide attack by ISIS on a military base in the region, highlighting the continuous threat posed by such groups.
