Casablanca :Wholesale Market Achieves Record Performance in 2024
Editorial: Africa Eye
The Casablanca Wholesale Market for Fruits and Vegetables recorded exceptional performance in 2024, with a record supply of 1,600,000 tons of goods and revenues reaching 177 million dirhams, marking a 10% increase compared to the previous year. These results highlight the market’s resilience and strong governance despite climatic challenges. The modernization of infrastructure and collaboration among various stakeholders, including market users and agents, have optimized logistics, with 233,000 trucks passing through the site.
Thanks to this momentum, the Wholesale Market has become the second-largest revenue source for the city of Casablanca, reinforcing its central role in the local economy. Since 2015, its management by the local development company Casablanca Prestations has enhanced its modernization and commercial attractiveness. Continuous service improvements and sanitation efforts have strengthened its position as a key link in the country’s food supply chain.
