President Tebboune undertakes a major ministerial reshuffle in the Algerian government.
Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced a partial reshuffle of his government on Sunday February 1st 2025. Two ministers have been replaced: Laaziz Faid, Minister of Finance, and Fouad Hadji, Minister Delegate for Pharmaceutical Production in the Ministry of Industry. These decisions were made official in a press release issued by the Presidency.
Abdelkrim Bouzred has been appointed the new Minister of Finance, succeeding Laaziz Faid. In addition, Ouassim Kouidri is now in charge of the Pharmaceutical Industry portfolio, a sector considered strategic for the country’s economy and public health.
These changes come at a time when the government is seeking to optimize its economic management and strengthen local production, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector, which has taken on greater importance since the COVID-19 pandemic. The new ministers will be tasked with meeting the challenges of economic recovery and consolidating national industries.
This reshuffle reflects the Head of State’s determination to energize key sectors to meet the expectations of citizens and the country’s current challenges.
