46 Dead in Sudan Military Plane Crash Near Khartoum
The death toll from the military plane crash that occurred on Tuesday night near Khartoum has reached 46, as authorities discovered additional victims under the rubble of damaged buildings. The crash took place when the aircraft, part of the Sudanese military, struck a residential area in Omdurman, a city neighboring the capital.
The media office of Khartoum state reported that, after the final tally, the number of casualties stood at 46, with 10 others injured. Rescue teams had been searching through the wreckage, recovering the bodies of the victims.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and officials have not yet released further details. This tragic event has further deepened the sorrow in Sudan, which is already grappling with political instability.
