WFP Halts Aid in Sudan’s Zamzam Camp Amid Conflict
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has suspended its humanitarian operations in Zamzam displacement camp, located in North Darfur, Sudan, due to escalating violence and insecurity. The camp, home to over half a million people, is severely affected by famine, making the suspension a critical setback for those in need.
The decision comes just two days after Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) also withdrew from the area, citing similar security concerns. With ongoing clashes making aid delivery impossible, humanitarian organizations warn of worsening conditions for displaced civilians trapped in the conflict.
