Editorial : Hala El Bassir
From the 24th to the 27th, the city of Cotonou in Benin is hosting the annual General Assembly of the Africa Transport Policy Program (SSATP). Chad is represented by a delegation from the Ministry of Transport, Civil Aviation, and National Meteorology, led by Secretary General Mr. Dioulne Laurent.
Held under the theme “Enhanced Governance for Safe, Sustainable, and Decarbonized Transport in Africa,” this high-level event brings together over 250 participants, including transport ministers, senior officials, development partners, and experts. The main objectives include reviewing the progress of the Fourth Development Plan (DP4) 2022–2026, sharing best practices in urban mobility and road safety, and strengthening partnerships across the continent.
The agenda features ministerial roundtables and technical discussions designed to foster dialogue among key stakeholders, offering Chad an opportunity to build relationships and explore future collaborations. The Assembly will conclude with a dedicated session to assess progress on the DP4 and adopt strategic decisions for the upcoming year.
Comprising 42 African countries and several global institutions, the SSATP supports nations in overcoming transport challenges and aligning their policies with broader development goals. The event is a valuable opportunity for Chad to enhance its presence and influence in Africa’s transport sector.
