UN Alarmed by Ongoing Attacks on Civilians in Sudan
By Africa Eye with (AFP)
The United Nations has expressed deep concern over the continued violence targeting civilians across Sudan, as reports emerge of deadly airstrikes in North Darfur. According to a statement from the UN Secretary-General’s spokesperson, recent bombings hit a crowded marketplace, allegedly resulting in dozens of casualties. While exact figures remain unconfirmed, the incident highlights a dangerous escalation in the conflict, particularly as densely populated areas of the capital, Khartoum, also face intensified attacks. The UN’s warning underscores the growing urgency of the humanitarian crisis and the pressing need to protect civilian lives amid a conflict that shows no signs of abating.
