Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah affirmed plans to enhance bilateral relations during talks in Dar es Salaam, with President Samia emphasizing their sisterly bond. The discussions underscored a shared vision to advance cooperation across trade, investment, and cultural exchanges, particularly in promoting the Swahili language, while honoring the historical alliances forged during their nations’ independence movements.

Building on this commitment, both leaders outlined strategic priorities in sectors such as livestock, fisheries, and the blue economy, aiming to translate political independence into sustainable economic progress. As the only sitting female presidents in Africa, they pledged to uphold the legacies of their countries’ founding leaders by fostering unity and equitable development.

Additionally, the talks highlighted tourism as a key area for joint initiatives, reflecting a broader effort to leverage natural resources and cultural ties for mutual prosperity. The meeting signals a renewed focus on Africa driven solutions, blending tradition with modern economic strategies to address regional challenges.
