Kenya Slovenia Forge Stronger Trade Technology Bonds

Editorial: reda El ghazal

Strengthen bilateral relations significantly following the landmark state visit by Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar to Nairobi, marking the first such visit by a Slovenian head of state to Kenya, Presidents William Ruto and Musar committed to elevating cooperation across vital sectors including trade, innovation, and climate action, aiming to unlock fresh opportunities for citizens of both nations through closer ties and the newly launched Kenya-Slovenia Business Forum.

Furthermore, capitalize on Slovenia’s globally recognized expertise, particularly in digital governance where advancements in data protection, e-government, and artificial intelligence align perfectly with Kenya’s ambition to become Africa’s digital hub, fostering planned collaboration on AI, cybersecurity, and digital identity systems, alongside scaling up joint beekeeping initiatives in Mandera and exploring smart farming technologies to leverage Slovenia’s leadership in sustainable apiculture.

Additionally, enhance cooperation in public health by drawing on Slovenia’s experience to improve affordable healthcare access in Kenya, supporting planned training and exchange programs between health institutions, while also partnering on environmental sustainability projects covering forestry, eco-tourism, and renewable energy, inspired by Slovenia’s impressive 58 percent forest cover as Kenya pursues its ambitious 15 billion trees goal by 2032, alongside maximizing mutual trade benefits under the Kenya-EU Economic Partnership Agreement with Slovenia’s support in business awareness.
